Aluminum Fencing

SOUTHERN FENCE & RAIL placeholder logoThere are lots of options for aluminum fencing, from styles, picket spacing, heights, and thickness (gauge). What I will do here is to define and explain the 4 most popular styles. From this you can expand to other styles but this will get you started.

WE ARE PET FRIENDLY

Southern Fence & Rail offers 3 picket spacing options…

        1. Less than 4″ (3-13/16″) picket spacing
        2. About 3″ picket spacing (MOST POPULAR)
        3. Tightest spacing 1-1/2″ picket spacing

Which picket spacing is right for you? TEST OUR FENCES OUT! Will Fido need 4″, 3″, or 1-1/2″ spacing to keep him in? Bring your leashed pet in (we are on busy Clinton Highway) and try these out for yourself, then decide what’s best for you.

Pool Code Aluminum Fencing

Making 4′ aluminum fence meet code in Knox County

Many fence contractors will sell you whatever they can get the cheapest and whatever is available. What makes a standard 4′ aluminum fence swimming pool code compliant? The key here is that the bottom rail to the next higher rail has to be 45″ to be code compliant. Notice the two Lancaster examples. Both are 4′ high, both have less than 4″ spacing, the difference is the bottom rail on the left (pool code) is all the way to the bottom. That is considered a non climbing rail (45″ between rails).
